The fried chicken is amazing. Ordered the two piece dark. Juicy chicken, crunchy coating without being too greasy or too spicy. Just right. Cole slaw is crunchy not soupy with a hint of sweet. Beans looked average but tasted really good. Josh was our waiter. He was very accommodating. We will be back.

My husband and I enjoyed dinner here for the first time. I will admit, I am rather sensitive to spicy food sometimes. The waitress did warn us in advance that the chicken is spicy and she is correct. She shared that the tenders are usually only a level 1 or 2 where the other chicken is more 4 or 5.... My sensitive self disagrees. I got the chicken tenders and to me they were more like a 3 or 4. My husband who has a much higher tolerance said there was no spice so... Just beware of you're sensitive to spices. Regardless it was still good. Despite the spiciness though, I didn't get much flavor to the chicken which was kind of disappointing. The Mac and cheese was superb though! Even if I didn't get any chicken again, I'd go back for the mac.

A very rare 5 star review. I’ve heard Champys Chicken copied Gus’ and I’d have to agree. Gus’ is the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. The spices were perfect and it was piping hot. I ordered the three piece but ended up with 4. The potato salad was excellent; homemade with red potatoes and just enough onion. The slaw was also homemade with a hint of sugar. The best chicken you’ll eat anywhere. Great job guys!

Some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. The first thing I noticed immediately was the amount of spice in the chicken and I loved it! Granted I do love spicy food so it was great for me.

My wife ordered catfish and it also had that amazing spice. She enjoys spice just as much as I do. They don't normally have catfish, but I guess on occasion they get some in. We would not have known unless our waiter had told us they had catfish. Overall the sides were good the potato salad was a little on the sweeter side than I prefer, but some people love it that way.

We also got an order of their fried pickles and they also didn't disappoint, I will say be careful biting into those things they were insanely hot when we received ours.

Will definitely be back here for more fried chicken and catfish (if they have it)!

Tonya was our server - she was so nice and made our visit special !!!! Food was good if you like hot & spicy fried chicken this is the place ?
We ordered the chicken breasts, thighs, wings & catfish - the sides were baked beans, mac & cheese, potato salad, fries, and of course, white bread —3 people ate for $58

Just okay, will not eat here again. Tenders tasted a little bit like fish? Parts overcooked, wing was small, lacking spice. Mac and Cheese and coleslaw were good. I would pick Popeyes over Gus's. My favorite fried chicken is Hattie B's, the tenders, the wings, the half or whole chicken. I order it mild as I like a little bit of spice. $$ dollar wise not a lot of bang for your buck.

Hands down the best fried chicken I’ve had in Knoxville and one of the best I’ve had in the country. Cole slaw top not h best I’ve ever had, mac and cheese was very good and the beans were just okay. Also real sweet tea here.
