We booked a king room on hotels.com in January 2024 for the weekend of 9 Nov 2024. We checked in last Friday afternoon. The young man at the front desk was originally pleasant, until we went to our room and it was not a king room and it smelled bad. We returned to the front desk, waited about 20 minutes for him to finish a UHaul rental, and asked for him to honor our original reservation. He became belligerent and said he did not have to honor our reservation as presented in our email from hotels.com. He threatened to cancel our reservation outright. Given that it was a football weekend, we would not have had a place to stay. I asked him for a business card so I could have his name, at which point he decided to switch our room to a king room after all. This transaction took about 45 minutes which meant we were late to the basketball game we had tickets to.||The second room was adequate, but it too was musty upon entry and the refrigerator was so loud you could hear it at the door. ||We have stayed at this hotel before many times and it was okay. The beds are not comfortable and the air conditioner is loud, but it is usually clean and the staff is usually pleasant. The breakfast is nothing to write home about, but the biscuits are ok.||We cancelled our reservations for the last football game (3 rooms) and will not be returning to this hotel in the future.

When checking in, the front desk gave us the wrong room type from what we reserved 10 months earlier on Hotels.com. When we went back to the front desk, the young man tried making excuses and when I showed him my Hotels reservation, he said it didn't matter. When I challenged him, he then threatened to cancel our reservation until we asked for his name to file a complaint, he finally changed us to the right room. He was incredibly rude and should not be in any customer service business. We have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the years and never had this type of experience. ||||The room itself was clean enough, but the fridge was making a loud buzzing sound making it hard to sleep. The breakfast was okay. ||||Given the way the front desk treated us, we cancelled our three rooms booked for the next football weekend.||||To add to our frustrations, Hotels.com kept rejecting the above review saying it needed modification to remove either price info, vulgar language, or personal information of which there is none. Apparently, they do not like negative reviews. ||||Since Expedia took over Hotels.com, their customer service and member benefits have both decreased significantly.

We've stayed here before. For 1 night, it's perfectly fine, and that's all we needed. Overall, the hotel does need an upgrade. Beds were quite comfy, and bathrooms were clean. Had a few minor issues here and there, but staff was always friendly and helpful. In fact, the staff was the best part - very nice!

The stay was “okay” it was the first time in Virginia with me and my GF, and my best friend got THE ROOM for us. I never saw the policy for the room but we were barely was in the room because we were going out the enjoy of time here in VA but the fact that my friend only had 15min visitation was just ridiculous.

On the way to the pool we saw one of the workers with their babe in the room breast feeding, theirs nothing wrong with that but in the room? Just disturbing.

The hot tub isn’t even a hot tub, felt like a bath tub. The pool I didn’t get in it I was just disappointed with the hot tub I didn’t even bother getting in the pool to cool off..

The night time crew were really nice but the morning people weren’t.

Thank you for having us but it could have been less strict. MAYBE it would have been a better visit.

The room was clean. When we walked in the hallway it smelled fresh and the room smelled fresh. It didn't smell musty, stale or like old cigarette smoke. The service team checked to see if we needed clean towels and other items the next morning. The location, the scenery is just beautiful. We plan to visit again next fall.

DO NOT STAY HERE! When we first arrived to check in it took the staff member 20 minutes to show up to the desk. It was late at night so we were just happy to have somewhere to go to sleep. The next morning we noticed a window had been wide open, there were no towels not even a wash cloth and there was fuzzy mold coming from the vents in the bathroom. Once I got home I checked my account and I had been charged 5 times. When I tried to call to ask what the charges were it took the front desk hours to answer the phone and when the lady finally answered the phone she told she charged me for stolen towels (seriously why would we steal towels). The desk lady was rude and not professional and I still didn’t get my money back.
